Nursery

Welcome to Grange Nursery

At Grange our Nursery caters for pupils from 2 years old. We have a designated 2-3 year old and a pre-school session for children aged 3 and 4 that are due to attend school the following September.

Our morning session is for the pre school group and runs from 8:30am - 11:30am.

Our afternoon session is for the 2 years + group and runs from 12:30pm - 3:30pm, with the option of collecting at 3:00pm to tie in with collections from the main school.

In Nursery we have lots of fun learning through play and practical, hands on activities. We develop our skills across the Early Years curriculum in many different ways including indoor learning and outdoor learning. Our sessions are very busy and full of exciting learning experiences and we are very lucky to have such a lovely indoor and outdoor learning environment.

In Nursery our focus areas of learning and development are the prime areas. These are Personal, Social and Emotional development, Communication and Language development and Physical development. Once children are secure in these areas they can begin applying the knowledge and skills they have learnt in the specific areas of learning. These are, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.

Grange School has elected to be an early adopter for the Early Years Foundation Stage reforms that will become statutory for all Early Years Settings in September 2021.

Your child's learning and development is documented through photographs, witten and/ or video observations and examples of children's learning collected by the nursery staff. This all gets put together to create what we call your child's 'Learning Journey'. This is accessed through an app called Tapestry. Parents of children attending our nursery will receive a login so that they can view photographs and observations of their child learning and engaging with activities during their nursery session. These online Journals are safe and secrure and updated regularly by staff. Take a look to see what your child is learning about this week!

If you have any questions about Nursery please feel free to speak to a member of the team.
